Susan's Story

Susan's journey into Eastern medicine commenced with a life-altering recovery from Rheumatoid Arthritis. Working as an RN, Susan had witnessed that an auto-immune diagnosis at the young age of 29 probably meant a lifetime struggle with mobility and pain. Thanks to acupuncture treatments, rheumatoid arthritis was not a life-long condition but rather a temporary autoimmune disorder resolved by balancing the system. Years later, Susan's curiosity and passion led her to enroll in Southwest Acupuncture College, where she delved deep into the mysteries of this incredible healing art. Today, she is fervently committed to sharing the profound benefits of Eastern medicine with others.

Susan Sandage is a nationally certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (Dipl. O.M.) by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She has earned a Master of Oriental Medicine (M.S.O.M.) from Southwest Acupuncture College, a Doctorate of Acupuncture (D.Ac.) from the Won Institute of Graduate Studies, and a Bachelor’s degree in Arts & Science (B.A. & B.S.) in nursing from Kent State University. She is licensed to practice acupuncture in Texas and Virginia. She has worked as an RN for 27 years, starting in the ICU and ending in homecare skilled nursing visits.

Susan describes her profession as an acupuncturist and herbalist as the most rewarding career imaginable. The body can heal itself if Qi is flowing properly, and traditional Eastern medicine promotes this balanced flow. " Incorporating acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine has altered the course of my life, and I feel privileged to assist others on their journey now."

During her leisure time, Susan finds relaxation and joy in family moments, practicing yoga, hiking, meditating, learning, and attending seminars.
